This is the start of an Update Archive section. Listed below are all of the reviews from the previous year (2005). Every so often as the main page gets too large, this section will grow. I haven't decided if I should separate them by months, or bank them up and do it by year. I guess it will all depend on how often we start to update this thing in the future.

Laziness and Busy-ness -- 2.21.06   9:35 AM MST
Mike

Yeah, so I've been incredibly busy with school and just overall lazy as far as updates go, and Tree's been after me for weeks now to finally get his review of Underworld: Evolution posted up, so I went and did that. Other than that, there aren't any updates at all to the site. I'm slowly working on a better way to organize and structure the reviews sections in what little free time I have at the moment. School work is just starting to get really beefy and overwhelming, although I amwriting and posting this during my incredibly boring Info Modeling class, so...Yeah...

New section! -- 1.31.06   1:14 PM MST
Mike

Tree and I have been planning on putting up a "Behind the Scenes" or a "Bonus Materials" section since we first started to design this site, but we haven't really gotten around to it until now. Or rather, I haven't had the free time to do any work on the site at all until now. School's keeping me nice and busy...

But anyway, if you look up at the navigation bar at the top of the page, you'll see that the Forum button was replaced with an Extras button that points to the new section that we've started up. It's not very complete at the moment, but hopefully we'll be able to get a lot more content put up in there very soon. Other plans we have are concept art/sketches that Tree does before animating anything, maybe some audio or video files that are either commentaries, or just videos of us doing our recording or goofing around trying to come up with scripts...We'll get good ideas for content as we go along. For now, just enjoy the few bloopers that I've put up in there.

On a lesser note, I've posted a review for Underworld: Evolution over in the movie reviews section, and I've taken all of the updates from 2005 and compiled them into an updates archive page which can be found below, so that the main page doesn't get to be too ridiculously long after a while.

Slight Delays... -- 01.13.06   8:40 PM EST
Tree

Sorry for the delay. I've been wicked busy with crappy work hours so I'm a little behind schedule. But don't worry, because Mike and I wrote episode 4 so we should have that out almost right after episode 3 if we play our cards right. Just be patient...The new episode is coming soon.

First Update of a New Year -- 01.10.06   4:15 PM MST
Mike

Yeah...So I've been a little bit lazy as far as updating the site goes...

Well! Anyway, there's a new wallpaper over on the downloads page, so go ahead and check it out. I was sort of re-watching episode 2 and saw that whole scene with Toad's mushroom cap chopped off, and then I pretty much demanded that Tree make a wallpaper of it, so enjoy it. We've also got two new movie reviews posted up, for King Kong and The Chronicles of Narnia, so go ahead and check those out, too.

Other than that, there's nothing new with this update, aside from the progress bar being switched to 50%. I went home for Christmas, New Years, and my 21st Birthday over a school break the past few weeks, and we did all of our recording for Episode 3. All that's really left is a few minor parts. Tree needs to get Bre over to record for the Litte Girl, and so on. But recording is essentially finished, and Tree will hopefully get off his ass and start animating pretty soon. We're planning on Episode 3 being done by the end of January, so keep an eye out for it.

Updated Review -- 12.07.05   12:00 PM EST
Tree I was challenged to go watch Rent and actually sit through it instead of just seeing little clips of it here and there, so I updated my review for it over on the movie reviews page. Go ahead and check it out if you're interested.

BraintreeStudios.com up and Running -- 11.29.05   8:30 AM MST
Mike

I told you that I'd be done with it early this week. I put in a few hours of work on the site last night, and got everything all finished up and working properly. So, go ahead and check out Aaron's official portfolio site when you get a chance.

Rent Review -- 11.28.05   3:32 PM EST
Tree

Mike went and reviewed Rent without telling me he was posting it...I work at a movie theater, now, so I've seen enough of it to be able to review it, too. So, I wrote one up and it's now posted.

New Reviews! -- 11.26.05   5:30 PM MST
Mike

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving! I don't have any left over turkey for you, but I did just put up a few new reviews. I've been off all week for Thanksgiving break, so I'd feel real bad if I didn't do anything at all...Over the break I picked up a few new CDs and a PS2 game with a gift card I had, and my room-mate and I went to see a movie at the theater back in his home town, so I posted up reviews for those as a sort of late Thanksgiving gift sort of thing.

Other than that, I've been doing some work on Aaron's Braintree Studios portfolio web site. Assuming I don't get nailed with a lot of homework and whatnot when school starts up again on Monday, it should be up and ready to go fairly soon. I'll post up an announcement with the link when it's all set.

Small Changes -- 11.16.2005   6:11 PM MST
Mike

Nothing big with this update; just a few slight little changes here and there. Aaron had me change a color here, and image or two there, and I added in a bio for Cuba over on the Character Bios page. Nothing too special...

But, on a side-note, please feel free to e-mail one or both of us if you have any suggestions for the Icons cartoon. I'm not saying we'll definitely use any ideas you might give us as far as jokes go, but feel free to make suggestions as you see fit. Tree's the one to e-mail about Flash stuff or the artwork and what not, and I'm the guy to e-mail if you have any questions or comments about the site. If you happen to spot a typo or a broken link or image that I missed, I'd be grateful to whoever would e-mail me to point it out so I can fix it ASAP.

We Made This for You -- 11.16.2005   7:55 PM EST
Tree

This site in for all the fans of our cartoon, and we want to make it the best for you. Send us fan art or something, and tell us what you think. What do you think we can do to make things better, whether it be the site or the cartoon itself? What characters do you like and which ones do you not? LET US KNOW!!!!

Also, I wrote a review for Stealth, and it's posted up on the Movie Reviews page.

We're Live! -- 11.14.2005   5:03 PM MST
Mike

It's official. After a few delays and hold-ups, the Icons site is finally live on the internet for fans of the up and coming Flash series to check out and (hopefully) enjoy. There are still one or two pages here and there that don't have 100% of their content posted up, but for all intents and purposes, the site's done and ready to be viewed and updated at our leisure. I had hoped to get this up before Episode 2 went live, but I got held up a bit with school work and as such, I'm a few days late. But, stay tuned to find out the eventual progress of Episode 3 when we start working on it. I really hope you enjoy the site!

Internet Gold -- 11.14.2005   7:00 PM EST
Tree

It's official...It's a hit. Episode 2 has hit the internet air waves and seems to be a hit among everyone, except for "flaming_cheese" on Newgrounds. He apparently hates Icons...but other than this lonely, lonely man with no penis, we have out done our previous episode and brought the public something almost everyone loves. And to go along with such greatness we felt all you fans would like a dedicated site for these lovable characters. Well, here it is...ENJOY!

Back in the Game -- 11.10.2005   10:15 AM MST
Mike

It's been a very long time since I've done anything having to do with web design or maintenance at all, so this whole newfangled 'CSS' thing that's been invented in the 5 or 6 years since I did web site stuff has been a pretty entertaining thing to have to learn to get a functional, easily maintainable web site. Ironically, CSS is one of the first things that they've taught us here at school, so it's been a bit easier to learn than if I were trying to do it all on my own.

The site is coming together piece by piece whenever I get the chance to put some of it together, but until I get a good chunk of free time (such as this weekend, which is a long weekend for me--we get Veteran's Day off), there are still a few parts that aren't done 100% just yet. Stay tuned and keep an eye out for all the stuff that's to come in the next few days!

It's about frackin' time. -- 11.10.2005   12:00 PM EST
Tree

It's about fracking time like I stated above...The site is on its way up up up. MWHAHA... The new cartoon is on its way after an extremely annoying process of weeding out characters that moved away or were just plain bitches...so expect some sudden changes to the line up of characters in upcoming episodes. For now it is the same, with a minor voice change to the little girl.

A lot of you were asking why I didn't show Kelly in the first episode...Well, besides the file size issues, she broke up with me half way through animating and since I was so far along in the episode to begin with, she's in the intro. But for episode 2 I managed to snake some lines out of her for her character...So enjoy her lack of flair & acting ability when episode 2 is done and posted...
